Colección by Sensi: An Elevated Tapas Experience in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter

If you’ve ever tried to organise a group dinner in Barcelona, you know how difficult it can be to find a restaurant that works for everyone. After searching for somewhere with great food, a relaxed atmosphere and a menu that would suit our group of four, we ended up at Colección by Sensi.

Booking was genuinely easy, which made the whole experience much simpler from the start.

A small restaurant on Carrer del Regomir

Colección is tucked away on Carrer del Regomir, in the Gothic Quarter, and is easy to miss if you’re not specifically looking for it. The restaurant is relatively small and intimate, with a quiet and relaxed atmosphere when we visited.

It felt like a nice change from the busier streets outside. We could actually sit, talk and enjoy the meal without having to compete with a loud crowd.

A menu made for sharing

We ordered around eight dishes to share between the four of us, including pasta in a creamy white sauce, paella, fried chicken and ham croquetas.

The ham croquetas were one of our favourites, and the pasta was another highlight for me. But the dish I kept going back to was the green dip we had with the meal. I’m still not completely sure whether it was hummus or another type of dip, but it was genuinely delicious.

The food arrived at a manageable pace, and sharing several dishes made the meal feel like a proper experience rather than simply ordering one dish each.

Is Colección by Sensi worth visiting?

For four people, we spent around €150 in total, including eight dishes, drinks, water and tips. The water was charged separately, so it’s something to keep in mind when planning your budget.

The main downside for us was the seating. Most of the chairs are high chairs, and with four people at the table, we found the space a little tight once all the dishes started arriving. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but it is something I would keep in mind if you prefer a more spacious or relaxed seating arrangement.

Colección is on the more expensive side compared with a casual tapas restaurant, but for us, the experience was worth it. The food, intimate setting and relaxed atmosphere made it feel like a special meal rather than just another place to grab a quick bite.

I would recommend it to anyone looking for a slightly more elevated tapas experience in Barcelona, whether you’re visiting with friends, family or a partner.

For us, Colección genuinely felt like a hidden gem. It’s tucked away from the busiest streets, booking is easy, and the experience was memorable enough that we would definitely go back.
